Keo are apart of the most recent wave of indie music, reviving the emotional weight of indie rock. The band is fronted by Finn Keogh, an outstanding song writer who pours his blood sweat and tears into every single song he writes. He never fails to amaze his audience. Every song is full of passion and raw feelings. They give this 90s grunge feel that is almost atmospheric.

The queue for Keo ran all round Edinburgh liquid rooms for their last stop on their record store tour. The doors finally opened at 7:30, as everyone began to get in, the wait was almost over. Keo were set to come on for 8:30. The venue was immaculate. Although it was a small capacity it was brilliant, the place was so easy to navigate and to get an unobstructed view. It wasn’t overly stuffy or too crowded it was exactly right.

As Keo hit the stage they walked on while ‘Movin’ On Up’ by Primal Scream was playing and the crowd all sang along, a change from their usual walk on song ‘Love Spreads’ by The Stone Roses. As soon as they entered and were ready, the ‘Be happy’ intro blasted through the liquid rooms. It was unbelievable. The crowd roared, with every beat of the drum and every single riff played on the guitar. Finn was roaming the stage like he owned the place. With every lyric the crowd screamed every word bar for bar without a fail. The volume of the set was insane. You could everything so clearly. Keo’s songs translated so well to a live audience

As the set progressed, they played 'Pistol’, and ‘The Best I Can Do’ which was actually out of this world. Finn somehow gets progressively better every time he plays. His voice is genuinely so surreal. As the crowd heard the first note of ‘Thorn’ it was a different story. Being one of their most well known and the one that got them pretty big when they started off on soundcloud. FInn didn’t even need to sing anything and the crowd was just screaming the lyrics at him. The set continued on with songs like ‘Spent On You’, 'Only We Know’, 'Loser’, 'That’s Me’ and ‘Black Dress’, one of the coolest Keo songs ever. It has that dark late-night energy feel about it. As the crowd Jumped around, Keo once a small niche band you could listen to on sound cloud, was now the next extensive thing. It’s becoming clearer as time goes on. They just keep getting bigger and better.

With the encore being the last songs they played of their set, they played ‘Kind, If You Will’, a beautiful song. Then, going into the song that started them of – ‘I Lied Amber’, getting them to where they are today. Finn Keogh is one the best front mans of the indie music scene as of right now. He is just what this generation needs.
