The band Deavenu formed in 2024 after the 5 members met in a Scottish youth music scene in Perth, from there they created a 5-piece band. Amber on lead vocals. Evan on rhythm guitar. Archie on lead guitar, and benny on bass and Stewart on drums. Deavenu are known for their energetic, emotional and alternative sound drawing heavy classic indie hooks. Deavenu have 3 singles, Sober in 2025, Marching band in 2026 and The Outcast in 2026. However right now they have just cameout with their first EP and its mind blowing. Deavenu blends melodic female lead vocalists with a heavy driven instrumental back bone, their music revolves around punchy hooks and gritty guitar riffs.

DREAMERS (2026)

As they open this brand-new EP with the song ‘marching band’ your instantly met with the most beautiful female vocals. However, with this opener we are set with the tone that this band are a rock indie vibe. From the first minute, it sounds like Paramore was reborn, or even better metric. The beat is amazing. The mix of all the instruments with the vocals is just unbelievable.
As the album progresses, we move on to ‘ghost notes’ thelong intro keeping us hooked with an upbeat tune, the vocals start slow and as slowly pick up speed Aswell as the instruments and it sounds insanely good. ‘Ghost notes’ is just the type of song that is nice to the ear and relaxes you.

Moving on to ‘Whistle fields’ this song is a lot more light-hearted than what we have heard so far on the EP, however, in this song the band sound exactly like a Scottish ‘the cranberries’ and it's so enjoyable to listen to, everything makes sense, the vocals, the instruments. They are perfect together. They blend perfectly together.
‘The outcast’ closing the album perfectly, with such an insane beat. In this last song the drums and lead truly get their spotlight. They sound genuinely unbelievable. This song truly shows us the rock behind the album. At this point, the band sound so good together and everything comes together as a whole to finish off such a cool EP.

Deavenu as a band sound unbelievable, and will continue to work up the ranks if their music continues to get even better than what it already is with just their first EP. They stick within the indie rick genre and do not fail to match that perfectly.
INTERVIEW WITH DEAVENU
What artists would you say best describe Deavenu, who would you like to collaborate with?
I'd say artists like Sam Fender, Arctic Monkeys, The 1975 and Fontaines D.C. probably describe Deavenu pretty well. We take bits from loads of different places though, so it's hard to put us into one box. In terms of collaborations, if it's performing or in the studio i think Copper Lungs would be cool to work with. A dream collaboration for us would probably be Sam Fender cause he's influenced the way we make our music and it would be awesome to see what he could do in the studio aswell.

How did you guys write the EP, what inspired the songs and the overall sound?
The EP came together after we finished "Marching Band", we wanted to put out a 2nd ep because Benny & Stewart both joined the band late 2025 and we wanted to just show that we're a different band compared to our 1st ep. The title of the EP really sets the tone for what the EP is really about - we're just 5 friends having fun and dreaming big, wanting to make it in the music industry and i think the songs show that!!
The songs are inspired by the modern day youth culture in scotland, we write songs from our own personal experiences, maybe people can relate to what we talk about. It's hard to say what artists inspired the sounds cause there's loads of different dynamics we've added from genres so there's no straight forward answer to that!
What venues would you love to perform in?
We haven't played in Edinburgh yet so that would be cool. The dream for us is to play in venues like Barrowlands & Hydro. At this moment tho i think it would be cool if we got the chance to play at King Tuts, looks like an awesome place to play a gig.

How did you start getting into live performances?
Our first real opportunity came in November 2025 when we got to open for Dopamine at Slay in Glasgow. After that, we got gigs in Glasgow, Dundee, and Aberdeen. I think the more we played, the more confortable we got on stage and it just feels natural now. We're always excited for whatever our next gig is!!
What can we expect from Deavenu in the future?
We don't want to reveal too much but I think the aim is to just play as many gigs as we can, take more opportunities, and to release as many tunes as possible in 2027. That's all I'm gonna say :)
A special thank you to Deavenu for speaking with us, alongside giving us the opportunity to review the impeccable EP.
